Netlinkz, a publicly listed Australian technology company, has set its sights on expanding its operations in Southeast Asia through a strategic partnership with PT&T Corporation, one of the leading telecommunications companies in the Philippines. The collaboration aims to expedite digital transformation across various industries in the country, leveraging Netlinkz’s innovative solutions.
The Philippines, an archipelago consisting of 7,100 islands, faces challenges when it comes to reliable and fast internet connectivity. The distance and terrain between islands make establishing consistent connections difficult, particularly in the 10 islands with populations exceeding one million. However, Netlinkz believes it can bridge this connectivity gap through its combined expertise with Starlink, a satellite internet company founded by Elon Musk, and PT&T Corporation.
Starlink’s satellite internet service has proven to be reliable and high-speed, even in areas with geographical barriers. Recognizing the potential for success, Netlinkz aims to address the growing demand for quality networking solutions as more people rely on the internet for work and education on a daily basis.
James Velasquez, the Chief Executive Officer of PT&T, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting their shared goal of supporting a fully digital economy. Velasquez also emphasized the pride they take in collaborating with Starlink, given its reputable standing and established networking solutions in other parts of the world.
Netlinkz’s journey towards Southeast Asia began in 2022 when the company became a global non-exclusive reseller of Starlink’s satellite broadband internet solutions, which were launched by Space-X. This partnership empowered Netlinkz to offer Starlink’s solutions throughout its target markets in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines.
In addition to their collaboration with PT&T, Netlinkz is also exploring a partnership with HGC Global Communications in Hong Kong. Together, they plan to develop a Network as a Service (NaaS) platform for integrated global communications. The first phase of this rollout will focus on enterprises in Thailand, with plans to expand to other countries in the region subsequently.
HGC, with its extensive network of 1.4 million kilometers of optic fiber worldwide, and PT&T, boasting over 18,000 kilometers of optic fiber, bring critical infrastructure and resources to the table. These partnerships will enhance Netlinkz’s ability to deliver reliable and efficient networking solutions across the region, benefiting various sectors, including the marine industry in the Philippines.
As Netlinkz and its partners embark on this ambitious venture, they are poised to make a significant impact on the connectivity landscape of Southeast Asia. By combining cutting-edge technologies, vast networks, and a commitment to digital transformation, they aim to bring reliable internet connectivity to previously underserved areas and drive economic growth in the region.
